Assist Security Group Achieves ISO 14001 Certification

Assist Security Group (ASG), a leading provider of bespoke security solutions, has attained ISO 14001, the UK standard for Environmental and Sustainability. This certification underscores ASG’s commitment to becoming an even greener and more sustainable business across its operations.

Troy Hewitt, CEO of ASG, stated, “Achieving ISO 14001 is a significant milestone in our sustainability journey. It demonstrates our dedication to reducing our environmental impact while providing best-in-class security services to our clients in luxury hotels, retail, estate management, corporate offices, tourist entertainment, event management, and hospitals sectors.”

ASG has taken several steps to minimise its carbon footprint as part of its sustainability initiatives. The company has transitioned its fleet to electric vehicles and partnered with a carbon-neutral uniform supplier. ASG’s head office has implemented a lights-off policy at night, saving energy and reducing emissions. Additionally, the removal of single-use plastic cups has prevented approximately 6,000 cups from ending up in landfills each year.

To further strengthen its environmental stewardship, ASG has appointed Izak Coetzee as the company’s Environmental Manager and introduced recycling bins at its head office. The company is also in discussions with a waste management firm to sustainably recycle its ASGE, paper, and textile waste.

Izak Coetzee said: “Our Environmental Responsibility Statement (SO14) follows the guidelines laid out within ISO 14001:2015. We are exploring the appointment of a virtual sustainability officer to track our carbon emissions and identify opportunities for further reduction. This aligns with our commitment to continuously improve our Environmental Policy and set regular objectives at management meetings.”

ASG recognises that its activities may have a minimal adverse impact on the environment. However, the company actively promotes sustainability to generate positive improvements and enhance the enjoyment and protection of the environment for all. This ideology is communicated to employees and available to interested parties, subject to annual review by the Senior Management Team.

With over 30 years of experience delivering protection and support, ASG takes a consultative approach to understand each client’s unique needs and situational risks. The company’s mission is to provide tailored services led by experts in each division, aligning with its 6-Point Framework of Protection, Prevention, Presentation, Planning, People, and Partnership.

By achieving ISO 14001 certification, ASG demonstrates its unwavering dedication to environmental sustainability while continuing to deliver operational excellence and personable, collaborative security solutions in partnership with its clients across various industries.

Sustainability

Assist Security Group (ASG) is dedicated to providing exceptional, tailor-made security solutions while upholding a robust commitment to environmental sustainability. Obtaining the ISO 14001 certification, the UK standard for Environmental and Sustainability, demonstrates our unwavering dedication to minimising our ecological impact throughout our operations.

To reduce our carbon footprint, we have implemented various sustainability measures. We have transitioned our fleet to electric vehicles and collaborated with a carbon-neutral uniform provider. By removing single-use plastic cups, we have averted approximately 6,000 cups from being deposited in landfills annually.

To strengthen our environmental stewardship further, we have appointed an Environmental Manager. Additionally, we are exploring a collaboration with a waste management company to ensure the sustainable recycling of our ASGE, paper, and textile waste.

Our Environmental Responsibility Statement (SO14) conforms to the guidelines outlined in ISO 14001:2015, and we are planning the appointment of a virtual sustainability officer to track our carbon emissions and identify opportunities for additional reduction. This aligns with our dedication to continuously enhancing our Environmental Policy and establishing regular objectives at management meetings.

At ASG, our activities may have a negative environmental impact, if only a minimal one. So we actively encourage sustainability to generate positive improvements and enhance the enjoyment and protection of the environment for all stakeholders.
