The Centre of Excellence, backed by Gary Smith, Senior Facilities Manager at Arbor, aims to set a new standard for corporate security in the UK. By focusing on people development, risk management and innovation, ASG is committed to creating an industry-leading security environment that ensures the safety and well-being of Arbor’s tenants and visitors.

The Centre of Excellence will provide bespoke training and development programmes for the security team at Arbor through the Assist Academy. Officers will receive specialist training in areas such as FREC level 3, safety and security for public spaces, and risk management. Two officers have already completed the FREC level 3 training, demonstrating ASG’s commitment to professional development.
In addition to training, the Centre of Excellence will utilise ASG’s expertise in security intelligence and risk management to identify and mitigate potential threats proactively. By implementing smart processes and optimising digital technology, ASG aims to create a secure environment that allows Arbor’s tenants to operate with confidence.
Arbor, designed by PLP Architecture, is the first completed building at Bankside Yards, a 1.4 million square foot mixed-use development focusing on sustainability. The building runs entirely on renewable energy and achieves net-zero carbon emissions from day one, setting a new standard for environmentally conscious construction in the UK.
The Centre of Excellence represents a unique partnership between ASG and Ashdown Phillips, the property management company overseeing Arbor. By working closely together and sharing best practices with other ASG sites and local businesses, the initiative aims to raise the bar for corporate security in the region.
