Assist Security Group (ASG), a leading provider of tailored security solutions, has announced it has received a B rating from Alectro for its environmental performance in its first year of emissions measurement.
The achievement marks an important milestone in ASG’s sustainability journey as the company works towards its ambitious 2040 Net Zero goal. This rating validates ASG’s commitment to environmental responsibility alongside its core business of providing comprehensive security through protection, intelligence, and training services.
Lewis Elkins, Group Commercial Director at ASG, said: “We’re incredibly proud of this achievement, especially in our first year of measurement. Carbon reporting is key to our ESG strategy, helping us track, reduce, and transparently report emissions. It enhances our sustainability efforts and identifies areas for improvement alongside our ISO14001 accreditation.”
ASG, which specialises in security solutions across sectors including luxury retail, corporate headquarters, healthcare, and close protection, has integrated environmental consciousness into its business operations despite facing challenges typical for smaller companies.
“Our biggest carbon reporting challenge was limited resources. As a smaller company, we lacked the time, budget, and expertise to manage it alone. Partnering with Alectro provided cost-effective services, expert support, and streamlined processes,” Elkins explained.
The B rating from Alectro, which serves as ASG’s Virtual Sustainability Officer, provides independent verification of the company’s environmental performance and establishes a baseline for future improvements.
“We pursued carbon reporting to understand and reduce emissions, crucial for our 2040 Net Zero goal. To achieve this, it was essential to first understand the sources of our emissions. These efforts align us with our sustainability objectives and commitment to responsible business practices,” added Elkins.
ASG plans to continue working with Alectro to further understand their environmental impact, allowing them to improve sustainability and reduce the company’s environmental footprint while maintaining their high standards of security service delivery.
The achievement demonstrates that security services companies can successfully incorporate environmental responsibility into their operations, setting an example for the wider industry.
